New Facility Expands Global Aerospace Manufacturing Network
Trelleborg Sealing Solutions Aerospace has expanded its global manufacturing footprint with the opening of a new production facility in Casablanca, Morocco, a move that strengthens the company’s ability to support growing demand from aircraft manufacturers and aerospace suppliers worldwide.
The new 5,000-square-metre facility is located within the Midparc Industrial Freezone near Mohammed V International Airport, one of Morocco’s key aerospace industry clusters. The investment provides Trelleborg with additional production capacity while establishing a local manufacturing presence in a market that has become increasingly important to the global aerospace supply chain.
The opening comes as aerospace manufacturers continue to increase production rates to address strong order backlogs across both commercial aviation and defence sectors. Suppliers throughout the industry have been under pressure to expand capacity and improve supply chain resilience following several years of disruptions and production constraints.
For Trelleborg, the Casablanca facility represents both a capacity expansion and a strategic investment in a region that has attracted a growing number of aerospace companies over the past decade.

Gordon Roper, President of Trelleborg’s Global Aerospace business, said Casablanca has developed into a major aerospace manufacturing hub and continues to gain importance within the global aviation industry.
He noted that Trelleborg is the first company in Morocco to manufacture polymer seals specifically for aerospace applications, adding a new capability to the country’s expanding aerospace sector.
Polymer seals are critical components used across a wide range of aircraft systems, including engines, fuel systems, hydraulics and landing gear. These products must meet stringent aerospace certification requirements while operating in demanding environments involving extreme temperatures, pressure fluctuations and exposure to aviation fluids.
The new Moroccan site will support production for customers across Trelleborg’s global aerospace network and help the company meet rising demand for advanced sealing technologies.
Morocco has steadily emerged as one of Africa’s leading aerospace manufacturing centres, attracting investment from major international aerospace companies. The country’s proximity to Europe, competitive operating environment and growing pool of skilled labour have contributed to its appeal among aerospace manufacturers.
Midparc Strengthens Its Position as an Aviation Hub
The Midparc Industrial Freezone has been central to Morocco’s aerospace development. Located close to Casablanca’s international airport, the aerospace-focused industrial zone hosts a wide range of manufacturers and suppliers serving global aircraft programmes.
Industry analysts view Morocco as an increasingly important part of aerospace supply chains, particularly as manufacturers seek to diversify production locations and improve supply chain flexibility.

Investment Focuses on Local Talent Development
Workforce development forms a key part of the company’s long-term plans in Morocco.
Trelleborg has announced a partnership with the Moroccan Aerospace Training Center (IMA) to help develop specialised skills required for aerospace manufacturing. The collaboration is expected to provide technical training programmes that prepare employees for production and engineering roles within the facility.
The company expects the investment to create between 150 and 200 skilled jobs as operations continue to ramp up.
Beyond recruitment, Trelleborg has indicated that the majority of management positions at the site will eventually be held by Moroccan nationals. The approach reflects a broader strategy of developing local leadership capabilities while building a sustainable long-term presence in the country.
The investment aligns with Morocco’s ambitions to move further up the aerospace value chain by attracting higher-value manufacturing activities and advanced engineering capabilities.
